Kumpulan Kisah Tidak Teladan: Catatan Harian

Di daerah Jalan Ganesha, saya inget SBY. Aduh, kenapa inget SBY? Ini pasti gara-gara dulu, waktu Pemilu Presiden. Waktu itu saya mencoblos dia. Mencoblos SBY. Terserah! Dunia sudah berubah, Bung. Mungkin kita memang harus mengganti nama permainannya. -Rahim Asyik, Redaktur Khazanah [DAR! Mizan, Cerita, Catatan Harian, Indonesia]

An Achievement Motivation and Study Habits of School Going Students

Education is the process of developing the capacities and potentials of the individual so as to prepare that individual to be successful in a specific society or culture. From this perspective, education is serving primarily as an individual development function. Education begins at birth and continues throughout life. It is constant and on going. Schooling generally begins some where between the ages four and six when children are gathered together for the purposes of specific guidance related to skills and competencies that society deems important. In the past, once the formal primary and secondary schooling was completed the process was finished. However, in today’s information age, adults are quite often learning in informal setting throughout their working lives and even into retirement.

Reclaiming Pietism

Retrieving an Evangelical Tradition

The historical movement known as Pietism emphasized the response of faith and inward transformation as crucial aspects of conversion to Christ. Unfortunately, Pietism today is often equated with a holier-than-thou spiritual attitude, religious legalism, or withdrawal from involvement in society. In this book Roger Olson and Christian Collins Winn argue that classical, historical Pietism is an influential stream in evangelical Christianity and that it must be recovered as a resource for evangelical renewal. They challenge misconceptions of Pietism by describing the origins, development, and main themes of the historical movement and the spiritual-theological ethos stemming from it. The book also explores Pietism s influence on contemporary Christian theologians and spiritual leaders such as Richard Foster and Stanley Grenz. Java in Telecommunications

Solutions for Next Generation Networks

Java has taken the computing world by storm - now it arms itself to conquer telecommunications! What links today's hottest programming language to telecommunications? The same characteristics that brought about Java's remarkable success on the Internet: its platform independence and mobility. Recent developments such as JAIN (Java APIs for Integrated Networks), JAIN Parlay and the Java Telephony API equip Java for the next generation of telecommunications systems and networks. The authors, all practitioners at companies such as Sun Microsystems and Telcordia, provide the first comprehensive overview of how Java will be employed in areas such as call control, intelligent networking, STN/Internet convergence, and integrated network management. As well as providing a high-level survey of architectures and protocols, Java in Telecommunications also gives detailed guidance on implementation strategies for the brand new, still evolving, technologies: * call and multimedia processing; * Voice Over IP (VOIP) Telephony; * eXtensible Markup Language (XML); * Enterprise Java Beans (EJB). Java in Telecommunications is aimed at experienced telecommunications network practitioners who need to plan strategically for the future as well as all those who want to stay ahead of the game and embark upon Third Generation networks and services.
